The School of Physical Science and Technology of Southwest Jiaotong University is inviting both domestic and international talents to join our faculty team

The school, which was founded in 1948 as an ordinary physics research and teaching department and has since gone through the Applied Physics Department and the School of Science, became the School of Physics Science and Technology in 2006. It has since grown into a strong college with a coordinated development of basic education, scientific research, and discipline construction, blending science with technology and conducting cutting-edge scientific research alongside basic application research.

The school has an education system consisting of three levels including undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees. At the undergraduate level, there are two majors in Applied Physics and Electronic Information Science and Technology, while the graduate level includes a primary discipline in physics and two secondary disciplines in electromagnetic fields and microwave technology and physical electronics, with physics being authorized to grant doctoral degrees.

The school's discipline construction has shown a good development trend, forming a coordinated development pattern of science and engineering, cutting-edge scientific research and R&D of high-tech. While undertaking the university's general physics theory and laboratory experiment teaching as well as specialized teaching, in recent years, the school's research capabilities have steadily improved, and the construction of research teams and platforms have yielded significant results. Through continuous talent introduction and training, the school has formed prominent research directions such as theoretical physics, plasma physics, condensed matter physics, optics, radio physics, astrophysics, electromagnetic fields and microwave technology, and physical electronics, obtaining fruitful research results.

Currently, the school has a total of 134 faculty members, including 23 professors (researchers) and 47 associate professors (assistant researchers) among 112 full-time teachers. It has 3 national-level talents, 12 provincial and ministerial-level talents, and has formed a vibrant and promising teaching and research team.

The school sincerely hopes to invite outstanding talents from both China and abroad to join them in creating a better future. The following positions are currently open: teaching and research staff personnel requiring a doctoral degree in plasma physics, theoretical physics, optics, condensed matter physics, radio physics, astrophysics, electromagnetic fields and microwave technology, and physical electronics. The school welcomes outstanding postdoctoral graduates, both domestic and international, as well as in-service personnel possessing a doctoral degree and senior title from well-known universities in China and abroad to apply.
