On the morning of June 21st, 2023, the School of Physical Science and Technology held the 2021-2023 "outstanding Party members" commendation conference in conference room X30334 of Xipu Campus. Members of the school's party committee, leadership team, and all party members attended the meeting, which was presided over by Guo Jian, the deputy secretary of the school's party committee. At the meeting, Deputy Secretary Guo Jian read out the school's party committee's commendation decision and hoped that the recognized collectives and individuals would cherish the honor, work harder, and better play the leading and benchmarking role of exemplary collectives and advanced individuals. With more firm confidence, more tenacious will, more practical style, and more effective measures, they will fulfill their duties, assume responsibilities, and make new contributions and achievements in promoting the development of the school's cause. The school's leaders awarded prizes to outstanding party branches, outstanding Communist Party members, and outstanding party workers.
Subsequently, teacher representative Dr. Ni Yuxiang gave a speech, in which he talked about his experience in teaching and scientific research work. He emphasized the need to strengthen political and theoretical learning and play a leading role in guiding students. He also emphasized the need to have a spirit of dedication and struggle, bravely face challenges in talent cultivation and discipline construction, and overcome difficulties. Then, student representative Yang Haojian shared his experience, combining his work as a counselor for postgraduate students. He talked about his understanding of his own party member mission and job responsibilities, not forgetting his original intention and mission, and hoped to be a life mentor and trusted friend for young students, making positive contributions to the cultivation of talents for the country.
After the "outstanding Party members" commendation, Party Secretary Liu Yu led the party members to review their oath of joining the party. Finally, Secretary Liu Yu made a summary speech, congratulating the recognized collectives and individuals. He emphasized that all party members should stick to their original aspirations and mission, assume responsibilities, and make active efforts and selfless dedication to promote the development of the school's discipline construction, scientific research innovation, and talent cultivation. At the same time, he also put forward the following requirements for the school's party building work: first, strengthen political guidance, implement the fundamental task of moral education, guide party members to love their jobs and lead by example. Second, take the initiative to plan and carry out business work, drive all faculty members to actively engage in education and teaching, cultivate new talents for the era, and tackle scientific research challenges, and promote the development of the school's cause with practical results.
Third, take the initiative to benchmark, identify gaps and weaknesses, learn from advanced typical deeds, grasp the key points of party building work, work out methods, and improve work efficiency. Fourth, be more conscious of learning, abiding by, implementing, and safeguarding the Party Constitution. Only in this way can we remember our identity as party members, not forget our original aspirations and missions, and strive to become qualified Communist Party members. We should take this theme education as an opportunity to deeply understand the task requirements of "increasing knowledge through learning," constantly comprehend the world outlook and methodology of Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, grasp the scientific world outlook and methodology as the "golden key," and enhance our wisdom and abilities to promote new progress and breakthroughs in the school's work.
