School of Physical Science and Technology Holds Graduate Core Training and Mid-Autumn Tea Party

In order to collectively explore graduate growth and improve the quality of graduate education, on September 28th at 14:00, the School of Physical Science and Technology held a Graduate Core Training and Mid-Autumn Tea Party in Classroom J4304A. The event was attended by key figures from the School of Physical Science and Technology, including Liu Yu, the Secretary of the School's Party Committee, Jia Huanyu, Vice Dean (presiding over the work), Guo Jian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Dean, Zhou Tao, Director of the Graduate Education and Teaching Center, Wang Jingya, Deputy Director of the Graduate Education and Teaching Center, Yong Teng, the Youth League Committee Secretary, Yang Haojian, a Ph.D. student counselor, student leaders from the School's Graduate Student Union, teaching and research office, as well as student cadres from various graduate classes and Party and Youth League branches, with more than 60 participants in total. The tea party was hosted by graduate counselor Zhou Ling.

To kick off the tea party, School's Party Committee Secretary Liu Yu warmly greeted the students and teachers, and began a special training session on "Building Graduate Party Branches." He provided an insightful discussion on the purpose, significance, and methods of building party branches. He emphasized that the party branch is the basic unit and the "keystone" of grassroots party organizations, serving as the foundation of the party's construction. It must be continuously strengthened. Considering the university's research context, he pointed out that it's necessary to use party branches as a starting point to drive the development of various Youth League branches and class organizations, uniting all students, working together to tackle research challenges, and demonstrating a high level of self-discipline.

Subsequently, Jia Huanyu distributed holiday gifts to the student cadres and conveyed warm blessings. While emphasizing the importance of political qualities and achievements of all doctoral and master's students, he acknowledged that producing high-level research outcomes inevitably comes with a series of challenges and difficulties. However, the students remain dedicated and make significant contributions to the advancement of research at the School.

In a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, students and faculty engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as class management, organizing activities, employment for graduates, and the development of student cadres' capabilities. Graduate counselor Zhou Ling provided a special training session titled "The 'Way' and 'Art' of Being a Good Student Cadre" in response to the questions raised by the students, combining practical experience in student cadre work. She encouraged all graduate student organizations and cadres to enhance communication and play their roles as bridges and links between the School and the students. She encouraged student cadres to excel in their academic and career planning, act as role models, and become courageous, responsible, and proactive Chinese youth.

This event provided a high-quality platform for faculty and students to exchange ideas, promote mutual learning among students, and enhance the capabilities and comprehensive qualities of student cadres. It effectively supports the growth and development of graduate student leaders. Amidst the laughter and lively conversations of the students, the Graduate Core Training and Mid-Autumn Tea Party concluded successfully!
