The ESI database, a fundamental analytical tool for measuring scientific research performance and tracking scientific trends, is built upon the bibliometric analysis of over 10 million records from more than 12,000 academic journals indexed in the Web of Science (SCIE/SSCI) by Clarivate Analytics. ESI has become one of the world's most widely recognized metrics for evaluating the international academic standing and influence of universities, academic institutions, and countries/regions. It also serves as a key reference indicator for assessing the effectiveness of China's "Double First-Class" university initiative.
