In order to further strengthen the laboratory safety management of the School of Physical Science and Technology, ensure the safe operation of laboratories under the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, prevent and reduce laboratory safety accidents, ensure the personal safety of teachers and students and the harmonious and stable campus, Guo Jian, the Vice Secretary-General in charge of safety, Huang He, the safety officer of the college, and Guo Jianqiang, a retired teacher of the college, carried out safety inspections on various laboratories of the School of Physics Science and Technology at the end of the current semester on January 12, 2023.
The main contents of this safety inspection were hygiene, water and electricity, doors and windows, fire prevention, gas cylinder use, laboratory daily operation, and holiday duty. The key focus was on reviewing the rectification of each laboratory as required during the safety inspection conducted on December 13-14.
Through this safety inspection, some laboratories were found to have not improved in certain areas. Names of these laboratories were made public within the college, and relevant laboratories were instructed and supervised to carry out further improvements. The college requires that during the winter vacation, each laboratory must strictly follow the laboratory safety winter duty schedule, and remind and supervise each laboratory to clean up laboratory garbage, turn off electricity and water, and post laboratory seals before the vacation.
Furthermore, the college will further strengthen laboratory safety management, eliminate formalities and personal relationships, and form a closed-loop management process of self-inspection, inspection, rectification, and re-inspection during the safety inspection of each laboratory to improve the level of laboratory safety management. The college also expressed gratitude to all laboratories for their support to the college's safety management work over the past year, and sincerely wish all teachers and their families good health and a happy Chinese New Year.
