Notice on the Selection of Graduate Student Academic Scholarships for the 2023-2024 Academic Year

Graduate Students of the School of Physical Science and Technology:

The selection process for Graduate Student Academic Scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic year at the School of Physical Science and Technology has commenced. In accordance with the principles of "fairness, impartiality, and transparency," we hereby provide the following relevant requirements:

I. Selection Scope

(I) The selection scope for the 2022 Academic Scholarships includes the following grade levels of enrolled graduate students:

Master's Students: Full-time non-directional master's students from the 2021, 2022, and 2023 cohorts.

Doctoral Students: Full-time non-directional doctoral students from the 2019 (direct-entry doctoral students), 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 cohorts.

(II) Basic Requirements for Graduate Student Evaluation:

Must hold the citizenship of the People's Republic of China.

Should exhibit a love for the motherland and support the leadership of the Communist Party of China.

Must abide by the constitution, laws, and university rules and regulations.

Demonstrate honesty and excellence in both conduct and academics.

Actively participate in scientific research and engage in social practices.

(III) Graduate students with the following circumstances are ineligible for evaluation:

Score below 6 in the evaluation of moral and ideological qualities.

Receive disciplinary actions of a university-level warning or higher, or any other severe school disciplinary actions (including service suspensions) during the evaluation academic year.

Violate the relevant provisions of "Southwest Jiaotong University's Academic Ethics Code" and engage in academic misconduct during the evaluation academic year.

Receive unqualified grades for courses stipulated in the training plan during the evaluation academic year, or suspend or withdraw from studies, or exceed the stipulated program duration.

Fail to submit their academic records to the university on time, fail to register on time, incur tuition fee arrears without valid reasons, and graduate student tutors who are exempt from their duties (including part-time advisors) and members of graduate student support teaching teams.

Overseas exchange graduate students who fail to submit the progress report for their study abroad to their respective colleges and the International Office each semester, as required.

Foreign exchange graduate students and graduate students from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, as well as graduate students who have already received other financial aid.

Graduate students with integrity issues, such as dishonesty or fraudulent behavior.

II. Application Materials and Evaluation Procedures

The application materials for the 2023-2024 Academic Scholarships will be submitted online, with specific requirements as follows:

(I) Graduate students should submit the "School of Physical Science and Technology 2023 Academic Scholarship Developmental Achievement Personal Application Form" (see Appendix 1) electronically. Please attach the electronic versions of the supporting materials indicated in the application form. Photocopies are acceptable for the attachments.

(II) The application form primarily serves as a basis for awarding academic scholarship points. Graduate students who fail to submit the application form will not receive any points. The points for certain categories, such as holding a position in the college's administration or collective class honors, will be determined and confirmed by the Student Affairs Division.

(III) The supporting materials should cover achievements and honors obtained between September 2, 2022, and September 3, 2023. The same achievement or honor can only be used once in the same category of evaluation.

The selection of the basic academic scholarships for non-freshman grade levels will be calculated by the School of Physical Science and Technology's Graduate Education and Teaching Center, and the results will be subsequently announced. The 2023 cohort of master's students and doctoral students will have their scholarships calculated by the School of Physical Science and Technology's Graduate Education and Teaching Center based on the "Implementation Measures for the Selection of Graduate Student Academic Scholarships at the School of Physical Science and Technology (Revised)" (see Appendix 2), and the results will be announced later.

III. Submission Requirements

Electronic Materials: Each student should bundle their personal application materials (Appendix 1) and the supporting materials electronically, with the file named in the format (Student ID - Name). These files must be submitted by 4:00 PM on October 7, 2023. Submissions made after the deadline will not be accepted. Master's students from the 2022 cohort should send their materials to 284248964@qq.com, master's students from the 2021 cohort should send their materials to 840402934@qq.com, and doctoral students should send their materials to 346753427@qq.com.
