On the afternoon of March 30, 2023, the Department of Physics held a seminar on exploring the teaching mode of university physics in classroom X30377. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Zhang Wenting, with teachers from the theoretical teaching and research room, the integration of theory and experiment teaching and research room, and the experimental teaching and research room of the Department of Physics attending.
During the meeting, Dr. Wu Ping shared her experience and methods of flipped classroom in the online and offline mode for the M course of university physics. As a senior teacher who is at the forefront of teaching reform, Dr. Wu has been exploring flipped classroom for more than seven years and has rich experience. At this meeting, Dr. Wu proposed how to effectively control students' completion of online pre-learning before class, mainly checking the online learning effect, making up for deficiencies, and analyzing difficult points in class. After class, knowledge-related discussions are released to guide students to a deeper understanding of the content, while also increasing discussions related to life and cutting-edge hot topics to broaden students' application of knowledge. Teachers present actively interacted and engaged in lively discussions on specific issues in experimental and theoretical teaching.
In the second part of the seminar, Dr. Cui Yajing mainly discussed and standardized the problems in experimental teaching and the grading criteria for experimental reports, in order to help newly joined experimental teaching teachers grow as quickly as possible. Dr. Cui Yajing explained in detail the specific requirements for university physics experimental teaching, as well as the grading standards for experimental reports. According to the requirements of the University Physics Experiment Center, students who are late or have not completed the pre-experiment report will not be allowed to do the experiment, and issues such as leaving in the middle of the experiment or not having original data were also discussed. In addition, each laboratory has its own detailed grading standards for experimental reports, which Dr. Cui Yajing explained to the teachers one by one.
