On the afternoon of April 2, the School of Physical Science and Technology at Southwest Jiaotong University and the Southwest Institute of Physics under Nuclear Industry co-hosted a themed Party-building activity titled “Party-Building Synergy for Strengthening Nuclear Industry and Building the Nation’s Future.” Participants included Liu Zhonghua, Deputy Party Secretary of the Southwest Institute of Physics; Huang Rong, Director of the Human Resources Department; Chen Wei, Deputy Director of the Fusion Science Division; as well as Li Zhuohui, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Physical Science and Technology; Guo Jian, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Dean; and Gao Guoqiang, Vice Dean.

The event began with a visit to Southwest Jiaotong University’s Scientist Spirit Education Base for a Transportation Power, where attendees learned about the pioneering achievements of the university’s scientists and outstanding researchers, as well as practical initiatives by faculty and students to uphold and promote the spirit of scientific innovation in the new era. Following the visit, the two parties held a discussion session. Liu Zhonghua provided an overview of the Southwest Institute of Physics’ operations, highlighted the performance of graduates from the School of Physical Science and Technology employed at the institute, and shared its recruitment plans for the year. He also delivered a micro-lecture on “integrating education, science, technology, and talent development,” aligning with the guiding principles of the National People’s Congress. Li Zhuohui introduced the School’s development progress and expressed hopes for deepened collaboration in Party-building initiatives, talent cultivation, internships, scientific innovation, and academic exchanges. He emphasized leveraging shared resources to foster mutual growth in education, technology, and talent.

Shen Junfeng, a researcher from the School’s Fusion Science Institute, presented updates on the CFQS project and ongoing collaborations with the Southwest Institute of Physics’ Fusion Division. Discussions further explored topics such as joint Party-building activities, student internships, research partnerships, and talent recruitment. The event was also attended by members of the School’s Graduate Fusion Physics Party Branch and Administrative Party Branch, underscoring the commitment to integrating Party-building efforts with academic and professional development.
