On May 27, a delegation from the National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NAOC) visited The School of Physical Science and Technology for graduate recruitment promotion and presided over the 2024 NAOC Scholarship Awards Ceremony. Deputy Party Secretary and Discipline Inspection Commissioner Guo Jian, researcher Liu Yu from the observational astrophysics research group, Professor Zhu Fengrong, counselor Yang Haojian, and over 100 faculty members and students attended the event.

NAOC researchers Lin Jiaben and Luo Ali delivered keynote presentations, systematically introducing NAOC’s cutting-edge achievements in terrestrial observation, radio astronomy, and space exploration. They further highlighted NAOC’s AI platform capabilities in the big data era and disciplinary development prospects, igniting strong student interest in astronomical research and AI applications.
Liang Yanchun, Director of NAOC’s Education Department, detailed 2025 master’s and doctoral admissions policies, inviting outstanding students to pursue academic programs and collaborative opportunities. During the interactive session, students actively inquired about admissions requirements, research practices, and AI technologies, with the delegation providing comprehensive responses.

Concluding the event, Guo Jian and Liang Yanchun jointly presented honorary certificates to the 2024 scholarship recipients before the assembled attendees, recognizing their academic and research excellence while encouraging them to scale new scientific heights. This engagement deepened institutional collaboration and provided critical academic guidance. Participants affirmed gaining clearer insights into astronomical research trends and development opportunities, enabling more defined future academic and career pathways.
