In order to effectively improve students' resume writing skills, assist students in career planning and job selection, the School of Physical Science and Technology held a resume writing workshop on April 27th, 2023 at 16:00 in classroom X2232. The workshop was hosted by Mr. Youzhi, the recruitment manager of Fangtian Education.
At the beginning of the workshop, Mr. Youzhi asked the students to talk about their ideal careers and what they need to prepare for them. Through this interaction, Mr. Youzhi guided the students to shift their focus from being a student to being a job applicant, and explained the seven key aspects that HR will pay attention to: knowledge, skills, role positioning, values, self-awareness, qualities, and motivation. He then pointed out the specific qualities that are needed in each of these seven aspects to attract the attention of HR, such as strong learning ability and communication skills. After clarifying the logic of job application evaluation, he emphasized that a complete resume must be able to demonstrate performance in all seven aspects.
Mr. Youzhi then explained the techniques of resume writing and pointed out the dos and don'ts of resume writing with specific examples, which deepened the students' understanding. Finally, he took on the role of an HR interviewer and asked the students questions about their resumes in a simulated interview, allowing them to better understand the role of a resume in an interview and the importance of a resume.
In this workshop, Mr. Youzhi's vivid explanation led the students into a small job application scene, which changed their thinking perspective and broadened their horizons. This is beneficial to improving students' comprehensive abilities and better preparing them for their future careers.
